Distinguished Conduct Medal
Established in Great Britain on 4 December 1854. One of Great Britain's highest military honors, second only to the Victoria Cross, awarded to enlisted personnel, non-commissioned officers and warrant officers of any nation, in any branch of the service, for distinguished conduct in battle. For each subsequent act of gallantry, the recipient was awarded a silver, laurelled bar. |
